History

No person is fit enough to narrate the history of an old civilization like ours that has dated for so many centuries. There has been Exodus from one location to another. From Dikome Ngolo area to Betika to this present Location. All these movements had been due to unrest.

Parable: Mokë Asiyowaka Njea Ya Mobongo
Ba Tua Ba Buru Mboh Babō sakanaka

An ethnic group of people had relocated in an area around Ngolo. These were the Bomboko people, Balue, Ngolo, Batanga, Bima, etc. Separation occurred but what caused the separation was not clearly defined. The only people who were not included in this exodus were balondo ba nanga. The monument they erected still stand there at the junction between Dikome Ngolo and Madie. The trees bearing evidence of the civilization are still present there. These people later left the area traveling through forest, building Huts as they traveled until they reached Betika where they settled for a couple of decades. Here they designed two crosses to indicate the two entries of the village. Here there was just a single stream and water was thus scarce.

The founder of this present Dikome was a hunter named Ngitor centuries upon centuries ago. He crossed the stream called ibowa mesowa around betika and Headed down south for his adventure. During that time Difenda was on another side of the forest. He walked and reached mabumbu stream crossed to niya, mokori-kori, mofombi and realized the land was flat and had lots of streams. On his way back to betika, he gathered the entire clan and disclosed his discovery. The next day, he was sent with three other men to have a survey of the area which they later confirmed suitable for habitation. All this happened so many centuries ago. Ages upon ages have dwelt in this same location. Age groups like Koro ya Itine, Njaro, Ikan, Ngeng, Ekpa Rikpe, Mbere, Ateri and the last age group Okomi were all born here centuries ago. Photos of Dikome Balue are available at the Secretariat`s office archives. These pictures stem as far back as 1828.
